I’ve heard a lot of mixed opinions about covering exposed body parts, especially joints, while cycling or running in the cold. Personally, I’m fine with cold weather – I do winter swimming, ice baths, and as long as I’ve got gloves, warm socks, and a beanie, I’m good. I’ll ride or run in shorts even when it’s below freezing, and everything checks out with my body temp and blood pressure.
But do we really need to cover our arms, legs, and joints when moving fast in cold weather? I can’t find any solid studies on it. Thoughts?
